Jessica Simpson has taken oodles of heat these days for wearing that imfamous “Real Girls Eat Meat” shit. PETA’s been all over her hide, Pam Anderson called her a BLEEP!, and now one writer says, “Real Girls Don’t Get Sassy on T-Shirts.”
I was wondering when it would come to this.
Because while I like a little sass in the Simpson girls, now that Jessica has decided to go into country music, she needs all the country friends she can find. The writer of this one particular story bascially says Jess should be nice to Carrie Underwood because you should be nice to everyone.
Can’t argue with that.
Even though Carrie is clearly the type of chick to do her snippiness behind people’s back (emailing your ex-beau to the point of distraction while he’s dating another gal, for example)…. she hasn’t said or done anything in public. It’s got to be hard to swallow, to be sure, and I blame Tony Romo in all this the most. Why can’t he be a stand up guy, turn down the ex-girlfriend chats, and pay attention to the one he has now? Why can’t he either break up with Jess for good, or commit to her? Perhaps he likes the drama.
Either way, this just reinforces my belief that Jess should dump this dude while the dumping is good. And not piss off anymore country pals, either, thanks very much.

So says Petit Tresor, the super glam store for all things baby. (Brangelina and J-Lo are two celebs who have frequented the store for their twins.) CelebTV reports that Ashlee and Pete filled out a baby registry in which “almost everything is blue.”
Well I say, maybe they like BLUE!
A salesperson for Petit Tresor blabbed that “it was very clear” they were having a boy. But are we really believing these people? After all, as Hollyscoop has pointed out, “Petit Tresor is the same store that got slapped with a huge lawsuit a few months ago for selling fake stories to the press about Tom Cruise and Suri.”
And I suppose it’s not like we can ask Pete Wentz. He’ll tell us they’re having triplets or something and will be joking about it the entire time. Guess we just have to wait and see until we get a better source.

We know Ashlee Simpson will need to wear some mommy-to-be-appropriate outfits in the next few months, but I can’t say I’m too keen on this look. Ashlee was photographed on her way to a friend’s house in this get-up. (Let’s hope it was a costume party.)
I say this is a definite NAY. But more importantly, what do you think?

The hoopla surrounding Jessica Simpson’s “Real Girls Eat Meat” shirt continues. This time former Baywatch beauty Pam Anderson called Jess a “[bleep] and a whore” for “promoting meat.”
Pammy musta forgotten that she herself was caught recently wearing leather. (Which is a no-no, according to PETA.) She told an Australian radio show that she “was disgusted” to see Jess wearing the red tee shirt. Later she claimed she was joking.
So that means Pam probably won’t be invited to Jessica’s house for the holidays this year. Darnit!
Still, if I’m Jessica, I’ve got to be thinking what a great PR stunt this whole shirt has been. She hasn’t received this much attention since the infamous “chicken or fish” comment.

I’m sure this little news story:
didn’t make Jessica Simpson too happy. It’s difficult enough when your relationship (on again or off again as it may be) is uncertain, but when your ex is living the high life with a new tartlet? Ouch.

Congratulations to Alice H. who was the winner of Shag’s Little Book of Love. As part of the contest, I asked Jess and Ashlee readers to tell Jessica Simpson whether she should stay with Tony Romo, or dump him. The results were very interesting, and I’ll include those in a later post.
Our winner Alice said, “I think she should stay with him - relationships are hard work for everyone.”
Jessica obviously agrees with you Alice. She’s sticking it out with Tony.

I’m sure Jessica Simpson never meant to get people all up in arms when she wore that “Real Girls Eat Meat” shirt. (Well, maybe she wanted to get Carrie Underwood all up in arms but no one else.) I’m all for people expressing their opinions, and if someone wants to eat meat or not eat meat, I could really give a care less.
But I’m NOT cool with people telling others how to live (with this being a free country and all). I was fine with Jess wearing the shirt, fine with the PETA folks saying why people shouldn’t eat meat. The problem I now have is that PETA is saying Jessica “doesn’t have the right to eat meat.”
Well, gosh, here in the good old U.S. of A. she sure as heck does. Apparently a spokesperson for PETA, Alistair Currie, said:
“Jessica Simpson might have a right to wear what she wants, but she doesn’t have a right to eat what she wants – eating meat is about suffering and death. Some people feel like they are standing up against a tide of political correctness when they make a statement like this – what she is really doing is standing up for the status quo.”
No, Alistair… what some people (Jessica) is doing is wearing a shirt to tell her boyfriend’s ex to get off of her back. Stop calling and emailing her man and let them live! THAT’S what she’s doing, NOT making a political statement.
Maybe instead of pontificating the folks at PETA could educate people. A little honey goes a long way, that’s what my granny used to say. (Especially when it’s on a nice big hunk of MEAT!)

Pete Wentz is a pretty funny guy. At least, he thinks so!
We already know he’s a major practical joker. He’ll tell the media some crazy story (like about his basement honeymoon!) and then later will admit he just made it up.
So it should come as no surprise that he loves to pull his practical jokes on new wife, Ashlee Simpson.
Pete Wentz loves playing practical jokes on his new wife Ashlee Simpson. In fact, on one practical joke, he nearly reduced her to tears.
Turns out he sprayed a new dress she just bought with some “invisible ink” and when she saw she started crying. Being the good guy he is, however, Pete “rushed in and explained it wasn’t real!”
Nice way to treat a pregnant lady, Pete!

Congratulations to the winners of the Employee of the Month giveaway. Pamela W. and Molly P.
As part of the giveaway, I asked JessandAshlee readers to give their opinion on Jessica’s new country song, “Come on Over.” I’ll reveal the results of the voting in a later post, but for now, here are the opinions of our two winners.
Pamela said she did not like the song and did not think it would be a hit nor make Jess a country star. She added that Jessica acts a lot better than she sings.
Molly, on the other hand, “sorta” liked the song but felt there was something missing. She felt it needed a little something extra in order to become a country hit but she is excited to see Jess move on to the country world. She said, “I always thought she would do better in country.”
Our two winners were chosen at random, but I love that they had differing opinions on this. (I like a diversity from time to time). I especially like that you guys aren’t afraid to give your opinions.
