IGN recently chatted with J.J. Abrams about his upcoming new science fiction series, Fringe.
Abrams chatted about the inspiration for the show. “It was really just Alex Kurtzman, Bob Orci and myself just hanging out and talking about the kind of show we’d love to see on the air. For better or worse, like most of the things I do, it just comes from stuff that I’d love to watch. It’s sort of a boring answer, but that’s kind of what the truth is!”
Abrams goes on to describe the show. “At the core of the show are three very distinct characters – this young woman, who’s an FBI agent; this really eccentric, nutty and until recently institutionalized scientist; and his somewhat troubled and estranged son. [It’s] this trio going up against this very shadowy network of [what are] essentially researchers, who are playing with science and pushing it in ways that are increasingly terrifying. And these three are basically the good guys who try to police them.”
And as for the comparisons to the X-Files? Abrams says that of course he was a huge fan of the show, but these characters are very different. “I would say the characters on our show are incredibly different [from X-Files]. Are they up against crazy, seemingly paranormal and terrifying things, like they were in Night Stalker and in X-Files? For sure.”

Brittany Murphy's career is in a downward spiral!
The once promising young actress has not starred in a hit film since 2005's Sin City, a movie in which she was just a featured player.
Murphy has never been the lead in a box office success, and these days, industry insiders comment more on her erratic behavior and crazy husband than her career (or lack of one).
Adding insult to injury, Disney has just axed Brittany from their deal with her!
Back in 2006, the Mouse House announced that Murphy would be their new voice of Tinkerbell. They planned to use her for work on new Tink DVDs and much more.
Well, this past week, Disney revealed that Brittany was out and there would be a new voice for Tinkerbell, actress Mae Whitman.
No explanation was given for Murphy's "departure" - but, really, we don't need one!

Fox still isn’t sure whether its new Niecy Nash/Jerry O’Connell sitcom will be permanently called Do Not Disturb — it was previously titled The Inn, as well — but that hasn’t stopped executives from putting together a pilot and photos of the cast in character.
Take a look at the full crew in the above still, a few more snaps after the jump, and the preview clips already posted. Does this look like a winning combination to you?

High School Musical 3 star Olesya Rulin is in LA too! On Wednesday she attended the Planet Green premiere and concert. She’s looking gorgeous as usual! I love the close-up picture of her, which you can see below!

Another installment of the Jonas Brothers summer tour journal…
Post 6:
Hey everyone! Sorry we missed yesterday’s blog. There was no internet service where we were and so we had to wait until today. Thanks for checking.
Yesterday we started the day by visiting a radio station in Birmingham, England. There were fans outside waiting when we arrived at the station. We had a great interview and then they dialed us in to another station for another interview..
Our show yesterday in Birmingham was amazing! The crowd was with us from the beginning. They made us feel so welcome. Avril came out during our set and listened to our show. We met her after the set and she was so nice. We went out and listened to her show tonight. It is amazing how many hits she has recorded.
After the show we drove back to London. Remember the doubledecker bus.. well it got stuck and could not fit into the street where we were staying. We had to get out and get another car to drive us to the hotel.
Today we started the day in London. We recorded a really cool show called Green Room. The put you in a Green Room with other bands and artists. After a while each group goes out and performs in front of a studio audience.
The other bands/artists were cool. They put all kinds of weird things in the Green Room. They should not let Joe near some of those things, i.e. Hulk hands, Mexican wrestling masks, etc.
After the Green Room we went outside and there were tons of fans waiting for us in the street. It is so fun to see people in another country that seem to like our music. We still can’t believe it!
Then we drove to Cardiff, Wales. The show was amazing again. Each show is getting more and more exciting. After the show we drove to the next town and we will have another show tomorrow. Thanks for checking in each day. You are the best

This is very shady!
Nina Nina Ricci designer Olivier Theyskens flat-out lied to Sarah Jessica Parker.
The Sex & The City star wore his dress (above) to the New York premiere of the film this week and she and her stylist asked if anyone had ever wore the dress before and been photographed in it.
Theyskens assured Parker no on both accounts.
Well, he fucking lied - twice!
Throngs of paparazzi photographed Lindsay Lohan wearing that outfit a few months ago at a commercial shoot. And, making this even worse, socialite Lauren (Davis) Santo Domingo accompanied Olivier to the Met's Costume Institute Gala in May and was also photographed wearing that dress.
Parker spoke to The New York Times about the dress fiasco.
She says:
“In the big picture, this is not important, but there is a relationship between the entertainment industry and fashion. We’ve watched sales dwindle and we’ve watched people be less inclined to spend money on clothes.”
To Parker, these are reasons for companies to take particular care with their relationships. “Look, my affection for the dress hasn’t changed,” she said, “but what they did was so short-sighted. It’s just unethical and disappointing that they would allow the dress to be worn again.”
Parker says she remarked to Theyskens during the fitting that she was surprised the dress hadn’t been worn before. He assured her it hadn’t.
“He didn’t say, ‘Well, actually I just escorted Lauren down the red carpet at the Met.’ ” said Parker, adding, “I just wish it had been handled differently and they had been straight about it.”
Tisk tisk.
We're on team SJPeePee on this one.
Shame on you Olivier Theyskens and everyone at Nina Ricci.
We have a feeling she's not gonna be wearing any of your dresses ever again!

With a title like Love For A Child, you'd expect the song to be schmaltzy and cheesy.
But, Jason Mraz is able to make it sweet and sentimental.
His new album, We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things., is like a fine wine - rich, robust and just gets better with each listen!
Enjoy the truly lovely Love For A Child below and then CLICK HERE to listen to more songs from Jason Mraz's (once again) truly lovely new album.
Who says "easy listening" is a bad thing????
Not us!!!

How exciting! Dish of Salt also spoke with Caroline Marx about the wardrobe for High School Musical 3. She is saying that the costumes this time are a little more sophisticated because this time they are more grown up and it’s the big screen now!
They asked her if the casts ever comes to her and tells her what they don’t like and she said yes. They know their characters better than anyone.
This is a great insight into the movie! I can’t wait to see their clothes.
